Sometimes as a photographer I feel called to document events. As with the activity surrounding the death of George Floyd I knew it was going to be documented but I wanted to it my way and so it was that I made my way to downtown Minneapolis for this march through the streets. It was so incredible to see so many people in once place speaking out against the injustices that have occurred within our cities.
These images were all shot on traditional black and white film on a variety of cameras. The images are presented in full as they are on the film, from edge to edge. Nothing has been cropped, no photos have been omitted. This is what I saw though my camera on that day. Feel free to share and post but please keep the images unaltered to maintained their integrity as documents of this event.
After sharing these images on social media, I was contacted by Marina Delvecchio who is a reporter for the Italian television show “Agorá” it is an Italian news program broadcast on RAI and hosted by Roberto Inciocchi. They “thoroughly cover the changes in global politics, national and international current events, and will give voice to political debate with studio guests, correspondents, reports, investigations, and live connections.” She asked if I would be willing to be interviewed for a segment they were doing on the current situation in Minnesota and I agreed and as part of that she asked if they could use some of my photos as part of the broadcast, to which I also agreed. Segment is below, Trigger Warning it does start with video of the shootings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti.
